Ellis Island was one of the Major factors in Immigration. Immigration is when someone comes from one part of the world to another legally.
Many People who immigrated to America all have there own stories. A lot of them came from England but they also came from Russia the jews mainly came from there, Ireland because of the potatoe famin, Europe and ect. A lot of immigrants came to America for freedom, freedom of religion and financial relief.
The mid ninteenth century was a major boom of immigration!
Congress issued a Emergency quota act in 1921 followed by the Immigration Act of 1924.
Angel Island was another Major factor in Immigration. It is located in San Fransisco somewhere.
When a lot of immigrants arrived here life was pretty hard to get started but turned out better in the long run.
A lot of immigrants died.
There was over 4.2 million immigrants that came.
A lot of people believed that letting immigrants come was a bad idea. Mainly for the worrying about disease and ect.
In America they could start there own business. Stick together if wanted. This created a lot of groups like how the chinease created China town for comfort of home. In n New York there is a lot of Italian people.
